Welcome to Mrs. Cornett's 7th Grade Class

So if you have wondered why I have pretty much fallen off the face of the earth.... it's because school has officially started!  Juggling being a mommy, wife, & new teacher (among other things) has been challenging but manageable.  Thankfully I have amazingly supportive friends and family and the MOST wonderful husband ever.

Anyway... I wanted to post some pictures of my classroom for everyone to see.  I took these pictures before school started so my room was 1. clean and 2. not 100% finished.  Unfortunately the "before" pictures are MIA because I got a new phone.  Let me tell you that the "before" was dingy gray walls, purple and brown book cases and gray doors.

Here is my 7th grade Language Arts classroom at Brown Middle :)

My bookcase with tons of books for the students to read.  Also a rug and two chairs for the kids to read in. (Thanks Denise Kieu & Cindy Cornett for the chairs)

This wall is where students will display their finished writing. Yay!

Behind the black doors is a very small storage closet. The doors were originally a brown wood which I painted.  The storage cabinet has inspiring quotes on it.

Here are my door decorations and information bulletin board.  The board has fabric on it with pears & apples.

Here is our "Meeting Place" where students sit for our lessons.  They also hang out on the couches and rugs to read.  You can see my desk (which I NEVER sit at) and the small-group meeting table in the background.

Here is my little place above my desk where I have pictures of Catie Grace.  Hopefully I will remember to print more pictures one day! 

This board is currently being filled with book recommendations from my students. They are very excited about reading and I love it!

So there is my classroom- Basically where I spend most of my waking life now :)  I'm so lucky to have a job at such a great school.
