My Newest Venture

For anyone who has known me for over five minutes, you probably already know of my love for event coordinating- especially weddings. Because of this, my friend Amber and I have decided to open an event coordinating company here in Chattanooga. We have named ourselves Fleur Di Liaisons (http://fleurdiliaison.blogspot.com/), and we are so excited to have the opportunity to do what we love!
A few weekends ago, on 10.18.08, we did a wedding for a co-worker of mine from UTC. It was such a learning experience, but everything went really well! What fun!

The bride and groom were married at Broad Street Methodist Church in Cleveland, TN.

The bride, who I work with, was an amazing client! We had so much fun!

The wedding colors were red, black, and ivory. The bridesmaids wore black dresses with an ivory sash and carried these red roses. Just a note- I arranged all of the bouquets and boutonnieres, saving the bride a lot of money. They came out so great!

The bride's bouquet

Look at my handy work with the bouquet! She said it was exactly what she wanted!

The favors.......

The bride was from the U.S. Virgin Islands and the groom was from Kenya. It was an extremely diverse and uniquely cultural wedding. Since their cultural identities were so important to them, we decided to hang their respective flags as a centerpiece on the dance floor.

The bride elected not to have the cake delivered, so Amber and I had to go pick it up. I don't know if you have ever had the responsibility of having someone's wedding cake in the back of your car, but it is kinda scary. Thankfully Amber sat in the cargo part of the car and held it still!

The groom waiting on his bride! Check out the boutonniere- looks pretty good!

A picture of the entire ceremony. It was a great wedding for practice- hopefully we will have more coming soon!
