The Cloth Diaper Saga...Cloth Wipes

So below is a picture of my cloth wipe set up. I have a little table next to the changing table for my wipes and things. First, I made my own solution for the wipes because it was super easy. The first solution I made had the following:

4 cups Water
2 tbsp. Baby Oil with Aloe
2 tbsp. Baby Soap

I used this solution for a few days but then I read that the baby oil caused repelling for some people with their cloth diapers. The LAST thing I want to deal with is repelling, so I got rid of the baby oil stat! Now I use the following recipe:

4 cups Water
2 tbsp. Baby Soap (I used Johnson's Creamy)

To store the solution, I just fill a Huggies wipes box (plastic) about 3/4 with water and then add some baby soap. I throw a few cloth wipes in the box and boom- ready to go! I change out the water every time I wash my diapers (so about every other day). There is also a spray bottle of the solution just in case I ever needed more (which I haven't yet).

When the wipes get dirty, we just throw them in the diaper pail with the diapers and we wash the diapers and wipes together.

For the actual wipes, we are just using the thin baby wash cloths. We have about 25 of them and that seems to be plenty.

If you go for cloth, it just makes sense to use the cloth wipes too. They do a GREAT job of cleaning her little booty and I like knowing EXACTLY what we are putting on her. It is another step in being green and it's cost-effective too!
