I know it's been a long time since I updated the cloth diaper saga, so I figured it was time for an update. Cloth diapering is still going really well! We are still loving it and haven't had any issues. We have added a few new things to the stash since the last time I blogged. Here is a run down:

Above is the Rockin Green cloth diaper laundry detergent. It comes in fun scents like strawberry, marshmallow, raspberry, green tea and watermelon. We tried the Rockin Green because Gerry had gone to a local cloth diaper shop (The Little Twig) here in Chattanooga and got a few samples of the Rockin Green. I wasn't unhappy with the Soap Nuts that we had been using, but I just really love the Rockin Green! It makes me feel like her diapers are really getting clean, but without having to worry about buildup.
Gerry and I are using the Lavender Mint Rockin Green and it is fantastic! The scent is very light (not that I am sticking my face in the diapers to smell them anyway) and it hasn't given us any problems. In short- we love it!
So- I am going to be honest- I am pretty much obsessed with the cloth diapers! We currently have (and I haven't counted any exact number lately) about 30-35 diapers. This is a TOTALLY unnecessary amount, but I am in love!

My mother-in-law recently got us 6 new Bumgenius 4.0 diapers. They are all the bubble color (very very light purple). I am absolutely loving these diapers! We had a few Bumgenius but they were the kind with snaps rather than the hook and loop (velcro) like the new diapers. Gerry really likes the velcro ones and I have to admit, they are great for a quick diaper change just like a disposable. These are super absorbent and awesome!
So, now that you have seen how crazy I am with all of my different diapers, I can admit that I am slightly obsessed with the cloth diapering! Although I obviously have MORE than enough, here are the ones that I would love love love for Catie Grace to have-
The Grovia diaper shell. It is a diaper cover to go over pre-folds OR you can buy a soaker pad to go in it. Basically... I just love it because the owls are so stinkin cute! I just think this would be cutest little diaper in Miss CG's bottom.

Hello my friend! I took the plunge and ordered 6 diapers on Monday from Kelly's Closet! I got the BumGenius 4.0 kind, like your mom got you guys. I got 4 snaps and 2 hook & loops, so we'd have a chance to try both ways.
I was (stupidly) under the impression that the diapers themselves were absorbant and the inserts were only for extra protection (like at night), and didn't realize that the inserts are for every time... Don't know how I missed that...
Is that how most of them are? Do you prefer ones with/without inserts? Is it a pain (and gross) to take them out each time? (you can email me/facebook me if you want)
I'm so glad you're 6+ months ahead of me on all this!! :)
