30 Weeks & New Orleans Vacay!

We have made it to week 30. Only 10 more weeks to go! This week Catie Grace weighs about 3 lbs and is 15 inches long. I read today that all of her senses are now developed and if I poke or tap at her, she should respond. That will be fun to do next time she is awake! Today we had a doctor's appointment and everything is looking good. My blood pressure was a little high, but my doctor didn't seem worried about it. I have just been instructed to "take it easy." Of course, high blood pressure in pregnancy is a pretty big deal, so I have been freaking out about it... but there's not much we can do!

Last weekend we visited New Orleans for our first baby shower. We also got to celebrate the first LSU game of the season and Gerry's 27th birthday while we were there. On Friday night, we went to a play about the New Orleans Saints called "Ain't That Super." It was a lot of fun and we both learned a lot about the history of the Saints. Before the play, we tailgated in the parking lot where there was a live band and catering by Deanie's Restaurant. The food was great and we had a good time hanging out there even though I was really hot!

Here are some pictures from before the play-

Gerry and me decked out in our Saints gear. We had to go to Wal Mart to get me a shirt that morning because my other Saints stuff definitely doesn't fit anymore!

Pic of the belly at 29 weeks. That huge t-shirt probably isn't the MOST flattering thing, but it worked.

Pic of Gerry making fun of my pose.

On Saturday, the family came to Mandeville to celebrate Gerry's birthday. We had a great lunch of Po-Boys and got to visit with everyone. My sister Lauren made an amazing strawberry cake with strawberry icing...with Nutella in the middle! Gerry almost died. It was really good!

Blythe was sitting with her Gigi trying to help him eat lunch, and she somehow got mayonnaise all in his hair and on his shirt. Of course, since Blythe did it, he wasn't mad at all.

Pic of Blythe and me picking gardenias in Aunt Anna's garden. She had such a good time running around the yard with her cousins Makayla and Alexys. I also taught her to climb the fig tree in the back yard. Aunt Anna can thank me for that later.

Saturday after the birthday celebration, Gerry and I drove out to the Westbank to see my Aunt Gretchen, Uncle Ed, and cousin Charlie. We had such a wonderful visit with them! They were even thoughtful enough to get Gerry a cake for his birthday. The cake was wonderful and it was so sweet of them to think about Gerry! Later that night, Gerry and I headed to the Bed and Breakfast where our shower was held. Once we brought in our luggage, all of us that stayed in the B & B went to Superior Grill to watch the LSU v. North Carolina game. Aunt Judy, Uncle Ron, Aunt Anna, Uncle Eric, Gerry, and I had a great time watching the game and hanging out.
On Sunday, we had the wonderful shower at the B&B. After the shower and a bit of rest, we went to the French Market downtown to get an LSU scarf for the game at Vandy on 9/11/10. We then had dinner at Sushi Brothers which is one of Gerry's favorite restaurants in the city. Even though I couldn't have anything raw, I did have two delicious cooked rolls. I was a little jealous of Gerry's stuff, but I can't really complain because mine was so good. Boy am I looking forward to eating sushi again!
We had a great weekend in New Orleans, but I don't think that is a drive I am wanting to take again anytime soon. This weekend we are looking forward to visiting our friends Kelly and Greg in Nashville and going to the LSU/ Vandy game. This is only my second LSU game and it is Gerry's first. We are going to have a great time! Geaux Tigers!
