Before I start on the Catie Grace report- I would like to let everyone know how my friend's baby Elizabeth is doing. As you may have seen in my previous post, my friend Holly's little girl had to have heart surgery on Wednesday. I am very happy to report that Elizabeth did well in her surgery and they took her breathing tube out last night. Holly told me today that they may get to hold Elizabeth today and they are talking about moving her out of the PICU and into a regular room. Praise God that Elizabeth is doing well and has made it out of such a major surgery! Now we are just counting the days until sweet Elizabeth can return home. :) I've already gotten her a welcome home present!
We are at 35 weeks and Miss Catie Grace is doing great! Our final ultrasound appointment was on Tuesday (I will post pics once I scan them) so we got to the see the little wiggle worm in action. They are estimating that she weighs about 5 lbs 10 oz now. She is head down and she has definitely dropped(for those of you who have not had a baby.. she is getting in position for her big arrival). According to the ultrasound, she is still a girl (great news) and everything looks just perfect (wonderful news)!
From what I understand, her development is basically done and now she is just packing on the pounds. I know that I (most specifically my bladder) am looking forward to her gaining even more weight! :) Parents.com says that "most 35-week babies weigh 5 pounds or more and rarely experience major complications if born before they officially come to term." Yay! So if she did come early (please come early, please come early, please come early) she will do just fine.
I am getting increasingly uncomfortable with each day. The more she weighs and the lower she gets- well let's just say I am counting the days to her arrival!
In other news- we have finished her nursery and we have most of the house clean! I am so excited about how precious her nursery is, and I am hoping to take pictures and post them sometime this week/weekend. As far as house cleaning, Gerry and I have taken this past week to slowly clean the house (cleaning out closets, scrubbing baseboards, etc.). We have made a lot of progress and I am feeling much better about the possibility of Catie Grace being here so soon! We are almost ready..to sit and wait for her.
We are a little over a month away from meeting our little Catie Grace and we can't wait!
