This week has not been super eventful for the Cornett household- Praise the Lord! I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that my blood pressure has gone down. That definitely makes me feel better because that is something I have been worrying about. I also got my first flu shot ever. It wasn't bad at all! My doctor told me that after my next appointment I will start going every week. Yikes! Where has all the time gone? I am so excited to meet our little one, but I feel totally unprepared. Maybe that is how most first time moms feel.
Last night I had what (after searching the Internet and talking to my friend that is an RN and her mother who has had 4 kids) I believe were Braxton Hicks contractions. Yikes. They were pretty uncomfortable/ painful. Oh, this whole labor and delivery thing is going to be great, and I know that wasn't even bad compared to real contractions! Of course, last night after the two hours of Braxton Hicks contractions, I had a dream that I gave birth without an epidural. NO THANK YOU! At no point during this little episode did I think I was in labor, but it did make Gerry and me realize that we just don't have everything as together as we need it to be for Catie Grace to get here! We are dedicating this weekend to trying to finish up the baby's room- hanging shelves, finding curtains, returning items, etc. We got a lot done last weekend, but I would love for it to be totally done within the next week or so!
I did get lucky this week because my office at work is being painted, so I got to work from home since Tuesday. It has been nice to be home instead of going to the office! Unfortunately I haven't gotten much else done because sitting at home doesn't motivate me to do much around the house. That's why it is probably better that I do get up every morning and go to work!
As for Catie Grace, she has been rolling around in my stomach like a little alien. She has gotten more active over the past few weeks, but I think that is a good thing. On average, she is probably still around 5 to 5.25 pounds and 20 inches long, but she is growing quickly!
On a very exciting note- my friend Holly had her little girl on Monday night. Holly was 9 days overdue, so they decided to induce her on Monday morning. Elizabeth Ann was born on 10/4/10 and was a healthy 7lbs 9 oz! Earlier in Holly's pregnancy, her doctor told her that she was measuring big, so Holly was convinced that her baby would be 10-12 pounds. I am sure she was very happy for her little 7 pound baby. Elizabeth is absolutely beautiful and we are so glad that she has arrived! Holly and Elizabeth live right down the street from us, so we are expecting Catie Grace and Elizabeth to be very good friends!
