Today we are at 36 weeks (9 months)! I can not believe that we are so close- yet (seemingly) so far away. Most people don't know that you are actually pregnant for 40 weeks which is 10 months, so when I say that I am 9 months pregnant, they seem very confused as to- 1. Why I have not pushed this baby out and 2- Why I am walking around doing stuff if I am 9 months pregnant. I have to say, I am with them on the "why am I still walking around doing stuff" part. The hardest part is that I am not sleeping well AT ALL, so getting up every morning to go to work is becoming increasingly difficult. Once I get to work, sitting in a chair for 8 to 9 hours doesn't feel so great either! One week from today we will be considered "full term" which means she could come at any time. As I have said before, she is more than welcome to come anytime she pleases :).
This week Catie Grace's sucking muscles are fully developed and ready for that first feeding. She is pretty much done developing so she is just continuing to gain weight at the rate of one ounce per day.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the finished nursery yet, but I fully intend on posting pictures at some point before she arrives. Gerry and I have been working on packing our hospital bags (yikes). Apparently those bags should have been packed about a week ago, but I have been procrastinating on this task for some reason.
We are very much looking forward to a restful weekend with not much planned. Tomorrow morning we are going to get maternity pictures with Michael Simmons. He is the husband of my friend from work and he is just getting into the photography business, so we will be part of his portfolio. Of course we are excited, and I think he will have a fun time figuring out flattering angles and poses for someone who is 9 months pregnant. It should be a fun morning!
Next weekend is Halloween which is one of my very favorite holidays! We will be going with some real cuties to trick or treat up on Signal. It is going to be a lot of fun! Also on the agenda is that our friends Amber and Rob are moving back to Chattanooga on November 1st. We are so so excited that they will be so close- especially with little Catie Grace on the way!
