Half a Year- My Whole Heart!

Guess who is six months old?  Miss Catie Grace!

We went to the doctor today and she said Catie Grace is "perfect."  We very much agree.
At six months, Catie Grace is 16 lbs. 7 oz. (60th percentile) & 26 3/4 inches long (85th percentile).

What else is Catie Grace up to at six months?
  • She reaches for you to pick her up.  It's just the cutest thing ever!
  • She is sleeping about 11 hours at a time, although she just went through a growth spurt where she was waking up during the night again, but I think that's over.
  • She still naps several times a day.  I am trying to figure out her nap schedule right now, but it just seems to be all over the place.  When she is playing with her toys on her blanket, she will just roll over and go to sleep.  Then she will wake up and start playing again!
  • She eats between 6 and 8 ounces of milk when she takes a bottle.
  • She has started solid foods and has tried (and liked) the following: rice cereal, carrots, peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes, squash & apple/prune juice.
  • She's not a fan of- green beans and green peas.
  • She can roll over both ways with ease.  We don't have a crawler yet, but she can get to the things she really wants.  She has realized that with a series of rolls and scoots she can get to most things.
  • Her favorite toy right now is a book that Aunt Emily got her for Easter.  The book makes a crinkle sound and has several things hanging off of it to chew.  She just loves it.
  • She puts absolutely everything in her mouth!  She is hardcore teething (her face is covered in drool almost all the time) but no teeth yet.
  • The doctor confirmed today that she has pretty bad seasonal allergies- runny nose, congestion, cough, watery eyes- the works!  We got some medicine for it so I am hoping that will help.
  • She is more and more vocal each day.  She will go on and on babbling and squealing.
  • Catie Grace has been sitting assisted for a while, but in the past few days she has gotten control of her body where she can sit without assistance for a minute or two before falling over.  That's a big step for this little girl!

Here are some pictures from our six month photo shoot.

She loves the bows!

Must. Eat. Paper.
Nom Nom Nom

"Oh, am I not supposed to eat this paper?  I had no idea!"

Sweet baby face.

Little baby feet.

This is how you will see Catie Grace about 90% of the time.  She loves her feet!

"Well if you are going to put the paper where I can't reach it, I have no choice but to stick my tongue out at you."

" I just love these signs so much.  I want to eat them all!"

"Hey Mom- I am kind of over the picture thing."

"Seriously. Last one.  I am smiling so you will stop!"

Catie Grace- You are a continued joy to your father and me.   I am so excited to get to spend the summer with you!  Waking up to you every morning is so wonderful and fun.  We could not love you more and we are so thankful for the many ways you have blessed our lives.  May God continue to watch over you as you grow from a baby into a (tear, tear) little girl!
