I know it is only the beginning of May, but it is officially summertime at the Cornett household! I am finished my student teaching (which means I am DONE with my Master's degree) and will now get to be a stay at home mom to little Catie Grace this whole summer. Hopefully I will get a teaching job for the fall, but right now I am not going to stress about all that. I am really looking forward to just being with this little girl and focusing on being a mommy and a wife!
Of course my number one priority this summer will be to hold, love on, and play with Miss Catie Grace, but I have a few other goals that I'll be working on too-
- Learning to sew- My sewing machine will be here tomorrow and I am so excited! My friend Blair is going to teach me how to make pillowcase dresses and then the sky is the limit from there! I know I would love to make bibs, burp cloths, blankets, & other fun stuff for Catie Grace. My new sewing machine can also quilt, but I have heard that it a whole other beast to tackle. I guess we will see!
- Learning to tie bows- My sister showed me how to tie her super cute bows (as seen frequently on Catie Grace's head) so I am so excited to get started tying!
- Making Catie Grace's food- Since Catie Grace will be exploring lots of new foods over the next few months, I am excited to be able to make her food! We actually started that adventure today, but that will be a separate post.
- Couponing- Getting into couponing has been something Gerry and I have both been interested in for a while (we actually went to a class), but I just didn't have the time. Since I will have some extra time, I am planning on beginning couponing soon!
- Blogging- I constantly have the goal of doing a better job of updating the blog! Of course I will need to blog about all of these new and crazy things I am trying over the summer, so I will keep you updated!
- and finally.. I would love to learn how to work Blair's monogramming and applique machine if she will let me :). I do love me some monogramming and appliques!
So you can see that I have a pretty busy summer planned- and I am SO excited! Leave me a comment if you have any tips about any of these projects. It's all new to me at this point :)
