Catie Grace is growing and doing well. This week she is the size of a papaya and she can hear everything going on around her. I must say, I am really enjoying being pregnant and experiencing this incredible miracle. Of course there are some things that aren't so great about being pregnant, but it is an amazing experience. Though I am enjoying it, it is hard not to wish away time and just want her to be here. Until then, we will enjoy taking naps, sleeping through the night, and spending time with just each other.
Here is an update on what's going on with baby Catie.
How Far Along: 22 weeks
Favorite Maternity Clothes: My favorite maternity clothes have to be my maternity blue jean capris. They are just so comfortable! I wear them all the time.
Movement: I can feel Catie Grace kicking around in there! She is usually the most active in the early afternoon when I am sitting at my desk. She must be as bored at work as I am. :)
Food Cravings: I have had more issues with food aversions than cravings. Baby doesn't like poultry and most fruit. Every once in a while I still get sick just thinking about some foods. It's not as bad as the first trimester, but I am still really weird with food. I also like to have the occasional Coke. It's not something I drank before I was pregnant, but it is so good!
As for cravings, I have been wanting a lot of avocados and cereal. Last night I told Gerry I really wanted a lemon custard doughnut. I do NOT like lemon stuff, so that was definitely the weirdest thing I have wanted so far. We did not have any lemon custard dougnuts and it was 9:00 p.m., so I didn't get any dougnuts that night. Yesterday, however, I did get a lemon doughnut and it was delicious! I guess that balanced out the water aerobics class I did at the Sports Barn.
What I miss: I really do miss raw sushi and I probably gripe about this every single week. We have had some cooked sushi recently, but it just isn't the same! Gerry and I plan to have sushi for the first meal after I have Miss Catie Grace. Thankfully I stopped drinking Diet Coke a few months before I got pregnant, so I don't miss that at all even though I used to drink it all the time.
What Gerry is up to: Gerry is very eager to feel Catie Grace kick! When she is kicking when we are both home, I let Gerry see if he can feel her kick. He hasn't felt her yet, but I am sure it will be soon. Her kicks are getting to be less like flutters and more like jabs.
I know that I am incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful husband, especially during pregnancy! He cooks all of our meals and is very nice about the fact that my taste preferences change every single week. Not only is he super helpful, especially when I am too tired to do anything around the house, but he is also a very big part of all the decisions for Catie Grace. I know some husbands don't care about the details like the baby registry and decorating the room, but Gerry is interested and helpful in picking out the details. He is just wonderful!
Symptoms: Other than the food aversions, I don't have too many symptoms. Mostly I am having a healthy and easy pregnancy so far. Oh, and there's the growing belly, but I'm not sure if that's a symptom or not.
Accomplishments this week: Gerry and I think we have decided on the baby's bedding, but since we constantly change our minds, I guess we will see if we stick with this one! Last week I got the baby's room cleaned out, so that was huge! I have been wanting to finish that since I found out I was pregnant.
Things to do this week: We have to decide on bedding before it drives me nuts! Maybe we will stay with the decision we made today.
