We are at 23 weeks today! Catie Grace's lungs are developing and she is now a little over 1 lb. She is just growing and growing, and she is kicking all over the place. Catie has fallen into a sort of routine of sleep cycles, so I can look forward to really feeling her kick right after lunch and right before and after dinner.Because Catie Grace can hear now (more or less), Gerry and I have been taking turns reading to her. It seems a little silly, but I've read that this is very soothing to the baby. The book we have been reading her is a book that my boss got us called Oh, Baby, the Places You'll Go! A book to be read in Utero by Dr. Seuss. It is a really cute tiny little book and introduces all of the different characters in the Dr. Seuss books.
I have known for quite some time that Gerry is a really great man, but having him actually read a story to the baby before she is even here was too sweet. He is going to be SUCH a great dad! I am so looking forward to watching him in action as a proud papa.
Things are still going great with the pregnancy, but I am definitely feeling the strain of working full-time, being in graduate school, and trying to keep up with friends and family. It is definitely better than when I was in my first trimester- sick most of the time, taking 12 hours of classes, and w
orking full-time, but I am ready for classes to be over and for things to slooooow down. This weekend one of my dear friends will be coming in town from Birmingham and we are so excited to see her! It has been way too long since we have all been together, so I am very much looking forward to it.
I hope this weekend is restful and peaceful because this week has been super stressful.
Baby, oh, baby
the places you'll go!
The worlds you will visit!
The friends you will know!
........
You'll find that this world's
a great place to begin,
but it could use some help-
which is where you come in.
So now, as my voice
burble-urps in your ear-
with a bump-thumpy sound
that is not very clear-
the words I am saying
you hear in your heart,
and know that I wish you
the very best start.
It's a scrumptulous world
and it's ready to greet you.
And as for myself...
well..
I can't wait to meet you!

Thanks for including that little note about me in your blog! It was wonderful to see Gerry and you. I wish we could see each other much more often. I cannot wait to see you as a mommy in action! You two are naturals. I'm so glad to call you friends! Love you always! xoxo!
